Our Story
Haptor Barrett opened its doors in 1980 with a simple proposition: that a single trusted showroom representing the best of the industry — fully staffed, deeply knowledgeable, and accountable from quote to delivery — would always be more valuable to a working designer than a dozen separate reps.
Forty-five years later, that proposition holds. We've grown from a small Los Angeles showroom into a curated source for over 250,000 items across 47 of the finest manufacturers in the country — case goods, upholstery, lighting, rugs, mirrors, and accessories. Through every shift in the industry, our commitment has never changed: be the easiest, most responsive, most reliable partner a designer can have.
The showroom you see today reflects how the business has evolved. Designers spend less time in physical showrooms and more time emailing samples, swapping renders, and managing complex multi-vendor projects from their studios. We've adapted — scaling the floor, expanding the catalog, and investing where it counts: in same-day quoting, fast sample dispatch, and a back-office team that owns every order from PO to claim.
We still keep selected pieces on the floor and welcome in-person visits by appointment. But the work happens wherever you are.

Full Customer Service & Accounting
A dedicated department to handle order tracking, claims, freight issues, and billing — so your studio doesn't have to chase factories.
Sample Dispatch
We request fabric, leather, and finish samples directly from our vendors on your behalf — coordinated quickly so you're not chasing factories yourself.
Referral Network
We maintain a vetted roster of furniture refinishers, touch-up and repair specialists, leather restoration, upholstery cleaners, and delivery services — all available to our clients.
Extended Hours by Appointment
Standard hours are Monday–Friday 9:30–5:30, but we're available for evening and weekend appointments. Just call ahead.
Who We Serve
Haptor Barrett is primarily a to-the-trade showroom — meaning our day-to-day work is with interior designers, architects, set decorators, and other industry professionals who hold trade accounts and have the expertise to specify, source, and place product into a finished project.
The lines we represent are reserved for the trade. If you're working with a designer, we're happy to work with them directly on your behalf.
